Ash is the residue remaining after coal is incinerated. In thermal power plants, coal is generally used as fuel, producing ash as a by-product of combustion. The most common types of ash include bottom ash and fly ash resulting from fuel combustion. Ash handling refers to the collection, conveying, interim storage, and load-out of various types of ash residue left over from solid fuel combustion processes.
Coarse ash material, such as bottom ash, is typically passed through a Submerged Scrapper Feeder Chain Conveyor prior to being crushed in clinker grinders. Fly ash is collected in Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) hoppers. Fly ash from ESP hoppers is extracted by vacuum pumps to an Intermediate Surge Hopper cum Bag Filter for further dry conveying to fly ash silos.
We are one of the leading providers of spares and services for complete Ash Handling Systems for Thermal Power Stations. Our spares division is fully equipped to supply ash handling components required for different types of ash handling systems. The division is manned by experienced engineers with long-standing expertise in the supply of equipment and spares for ash and coal plants.
